Amedeo.com, the Medical Literature Guide: This site provides a weekly update on selected topics. You can also create a personalized weekly update on a topic restricted to specific journals. This service requires a subscription; but there is no charge. All searches provide abstracts.
BioMed Central: The research articles are free fulltext. Other articles in BMC are abstracts only (or pay for fulltext by credit card).
Medscape: This web site provides a wealth of information for the practicing physician. It does require a one time registration but resources are available for free. If provides options for CME, MEDLINE optimized for physicians, and daily medical news.
